Anjin

When we heard that the husband and wife team behind one of Kansas City’s top restaurants was developing a Japanese izakaya, we pitched them on a short film documenting the process. Filmed over the course of a year, Anjin explores the influence of our lineage, overcoming grief and the determination required to achieve greatness. In early 2025, Anjin was named a finalist for the prestigious Best New Restaurant award presented by the James Beard Foundation.

Harp BBQ

We first met Tyler Harp in 2019 while on assignment for Kansas City Magazine’s Top 10 BBQ list. We were instantly impressed by the food but more so his humility and deep knowledge of culinary history. This past winter we spent some time with Tyler. Take a few minutes to watch and learn about his process, his perspective and how he forever changed the landscape of Kansas City barbecue.
